Terms of service — Verity Shield

These terms apply to the Verity Shield mobile application and related services we provide under that name.

1. The service

Verity Shield provides number lookup, community reporting, and optional call/SMS-related alerts based on moderated data. Risk scores and flags are informational and may be incomplete or wrong. We do not guarantee that any number is safe or unsafe.

2. Not emergency or professional advice

Verity Shield is not a substitute for emergency services, law enforcement, or professional security or legal advice. For emergencies, contact local authorities.

3. User content and reports

You must provide accurate information in reports to the best of your knowledge. False or abusive reports may result in suspension. You grant us a licence to use reports and evidence you submit to operate, moderate, and improve the Services.

4. Acceptable use

No illegal use, harassment, scraping or attacking our systems, circumventing rate limits, or attempting to deanonymize other users beyond what the app intentionally displays.

5. Moderation

We may approve, reject, or adjust reports and outcomes. We may change or remove data where appropriate.

7. Disclaimers

Services are provided as is and as available to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages or for losses arising from reliance on risk indicators. Our aggregate liability is limited to US$100 (or the minimum amount permitted by applicable law).
